Mangaluru, Nov 2: On the wonderful occasion of Deepavali, the AIMIT Magis club of IT Department (MCA) of St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, visited the beautiful children of Sneha Sadan, Gurupura, Mangaluru, to share love and joy with them. They held a small program, D’LIGHT, and were joined by the other part of the family.
Members of the club first met director Fr Teji, at Sneha Sadan. He talked about how the Trust has been functioning for 16 long years in the city. Besides, there are now two subdivisions or houses – Sneha Sadan and Sneha Ashrama. He also told the members of the club, at present, there are about 40 children, ten adults and working staff of 10.
The group met Gopika, a nursing staff, who briefed them about the organisation and its administrative team comprising Fr Teji Thomas, Fr Russel Jacob, Fr Jobi and Fr Sibi, running and supporting the welfare of children.
The children of Sneha Sadan have been provided with facilities like exercise room, isolation room, playground for girls and boys, study room, food court, counselling room, among other facilities. Besides, children were being trained for participating in the champion week to be held in Bengaluru, the next month.
The formal function was held later in the morning, and included chief guests Merrill Rego, president of the youth congress Dakshina Vidhan Sabha, Mangaluru and Girish Alva, president of the youth congress Uttara Vidhan Sabha, Mangaluru, and guests, Fr Teji, Fr Balraju, Suman Lasrado, Magis faculty coordinator and Magis Student Coordinator Kevin Sequeira.
The chief guests shared a beautiful message about Deepavali and praised Magis Association and Sneha Sadan for organising the program for the children.
There were lots of fun activities conducted for all children by Mano Tony and his group. All children won prizes for actively participating in the event. The club members interacted with students and enjoyed every moment with them by dancing, singing and laughing, with a promise to visit again.
