Mangaluru: Pedestrian crossing road hit by car, killed

Mangaluru, Nov 3: In an incident which happened on national highway 66 at Talapady within the limits of Ullal police station, a pedestrian crossing the road was hit and  injured by a car. The pedestrian who was admitted into a hospital, lost his life later at a hospital.

The accident had occurred late night on Monday. The victim, Sanjeev Kulal (58), was a resident of Santya in Talapady. He was working as mechanic in Rajkumar Travels garage at Adyar near here. On Monday evening, he was going home after duty hours, when the accident happened.

Kulal had got down from a bus and was crossing the road along with a person named Ramesh Alva from Talapady, when a car which came from the direction of Kasargod at high speed hit him. Kulal suffered serious injuries to his head. He was admitted into a private hospital in the city. However, he died on the night of Tuesday November 1.

Ullal police have registered a case against car driver.
