Kasargod: Police arrest two for trying to send ganja to Gulf

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Nov 3: The police personnel of Kumble station in the district have arrested two persons, duly accusing them of trying to send ganja to Gulf region, by concealing the drug in a packet of rusk.

The arrested accused have been identified as Muhammed Ashraf A B alias Asru (29) , a resident of Uppal Bappayi Totti, and Anwar Ahmed alias Bhaijan (58) from Uppala Manimunda.

Allegedly, the accused had approached the complainant and handed over a parcel which they said contained rusk. The packet was to be delivered by the complainant, a youth from Chowki Kambar, who was to leave on October 30 to a Gulf country, to a friend of the duo living in the Gulf. The youth, it is said, grew suspicious about the packet and opened it. He found that ganja was concealed among the rusk.

He immediately complained to Kumble police. The police personnel found 300 grams of ganja inside the rusk packet. Both the accused have been arrested on charges of trying to smuggle banned substance, ganja, to the Gulf region.

    Shankar,

Thank God I opened the packet given to me by someone in Mangalore to be delivered in Kuwait and when I checked inside so many syringes for the purpose of insulin intake. If I had taken on faith & trust I would have been inside because custom officers here will make full postmortem.
Those days letters from so many family & friends would make half a kilo to be disbursed in Kuwait.

If caught, the innocent carrier's head would have got chopped by Dubai court.

The wise thing he did open and checked the parcel.

The two frauds should be stoned to death in Uppala by the locals there.

Lesson, never accept parcels unless you open and see it thoroughly.
