Kundapur: Akrama Sakrama - court orders investigation against Byndoor MLA, others

Kundapur, Nov 3: In connection with a complaint filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the special court here has asked the deputy superintendent of police here to investigate the case and file a report thereof in the court. This order was passed by judge of the special court Rajashekhar V Patil on Wednesday November 2.

A person named S Suresh Shetty had filed private complaint in the court about alleged sanction of land by Akrama-Sakrama Samiti in Kaltodu and Heranjalu villages. He had named the accused as Byndoor MLA, K Gopal Poojary, who happens to be the president of the Samiti, and members, Kaltodu H Vijay Kumar Shetty, Sadhu S Billava, Bhoja Naik, the then tahsildar, Gayatri Nayak, and wife of a committee member, Jyoti Shedthi.

The complainant has stated that Vijay Kumar Shetty, duly misusing his position as Akrama Sakrama Samiti member, had illegally got large tracts of land sanctioned in the names of himself and his wife. He has alleged that the land sanctioned to the couple was not being used for agriculture but for laterite stone mining.
