Mangaluru: Gangs of jail inmates fight - one injured

Mangaluru, Nov 6: Two gangs of prisoners fought it out inside the district prison here on Saturday November 5. In this incident, a person was injured.

Reportedly, superintendent of the jail had called inmates of the jail, Nitesh, Dhanush, Latish, Praveen Kulal and Tilak to his office to give them good advice. They are said to be associates of Monkeystand Vijay.

During the period these persons were in the office, Hemachandra, Nitinraj, Pavanraj, Kartik, Rahul, Raghavendra and four others rushed inside, pushed the jail warden aside and attacked the previous group. The gang members were armed with stones, it is gathered. In this incident, window glass of the office was shattered and Nitesh suffered injury due to a splinter of glass with which he came in contact with.

Barke police have registered murder attempt and obstruction of government servants from discharging duty cases against the accused on the basis of complaint filed by the jail superintendent.
