Mysuru: Hindu organizations raise furore over BJP activist's death

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Nov 6: A BJP activist, Magali Ravi (35), was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the district on the night of Friday November 4. He was the vice president of district Yuva Morcha. As various organizations insisted that it was a case of murder, Periyapatna police have filed a murder case.

After postmortem, the body of the deceased, who was from Magali village in Periytapatna taluk, was consigned to flames on Saturday evening in the presence of police. In the meanwhile, Hindu organizations staged protest all over the district.

Ravi, who was cultivating a small land his family owns, also used to buy trees from Kodagu and supply firewood to barons involved with processing of tobacco in Periyapatna taluk. After he worked as taluk president of BJP Yuva Morcha for long, the party had given the responsibility of district vice president of the Morcha.

On Friday, Ravi had taken part in the peace meet organized in Periyapatna police station in which Muslim leaders too were present. He had vehemently opposed Tipu Jayanti celebrations there. After the meeting ended at around 7 pm, Ravi had visited a shop to buy chicken. He then went away in his two-wheeler to reach his home, but his body was found lying by the roadside about 200 metres away from his village under mysterious circumstances. There was blood all over his body. After some passersby noticed the body and called the villagers, villagers went there and found that Ravi had died. Later, police carried the mortal remains of Ravi to Periyapatna hospital.

Ravi was found to have suffered heavy injuries to his face, head and nose but his vehicle was not damaged. Brother of Ravi felt in his police complaint that it was a case of murder. Additional superintendent of police, Kala Krihnaswamy, is leading the investigation into this case. District superintendent of police, Ravi D Channannavar, said that investigation about Ravi's contacts had been taken up now, and postmortem report, once received, might be able to throw more light on the case.

Rashtirya Swayamsevak Sangh joint secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale, termed this as a murder by forces that are intolerant. State BJP president, Yeddyurappa, held the chief minister responsible for the death of BJP activist.

The Muslim political leaders persons who are attended the Peace meet at Police Station are directly responsible for the murder, Police should arrest them or Hindu organisations must take revenge now. just opposing for any gain is of no use.

Let's keep politics and party affiliations aside.
Let's look only in moral and legal angle.
For all our words and actions we are surely accountable.
If Ravi was murdered just because he opposed TIPU Jayanti, its to be condemned. All murders and criminal actions are condemnable.
Every one has fundamental right to his views and right to support or oppose in lawful manner.
Truth should be made public at the earliest.
I hope Karnataka will not become like Kerala in revenge murders.

Baliga(RTI activist) was a true nationalist. He was for social justice.

Tell me how many right wing activists have protested against the murder?

Murder of any sort is a crime. But ignoring Baliga murder is not true nationalism

In my opinion the BJP coterie very well know who the perpetrators are.., its all about competitive politics within the party as the number of leaders increase within the party with a lust to grow up in the hierarchy.

Without prejudice.., if any secular thinking Hindustani take note of the past & present financial & economic background of these self proclaimed & self serving pro Hindu organizations reveal how lucrative it is to hold such position. There is probably an intangible & always disowning remote control power house / think tank planning that design the future of BJP as a political party and who can be its leaders. Anything contrary to such vision probably may end up paying the price which normal person can't comprehend.

While it is not to express my view with an intention to prevail over the other, Second best view is most welcome.

It is sad to see BJP as a political party trying to sell the dead bodies of Hindu's for its political gain even before the free & fair trial before the court of law as per the law of the land called Hindustan.

    Jai Ho..,
