Udupi, Nov 9: Karkala MLA, Sunil Kumar compared Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, to Tipu Sultan, going by the fact that he is hell-bent upon celebrating the birth anniversary of Tipu Sultan for appeasing certain sections of the society with an eye for votes.

He addressed a protest organized near the Clock Tower here on Tuesday November 8 with the coming together of all the Morachas and regional committees of the BJP, opposing celebration of Tipu Jayanti. He termed Tipu Sultan as a cruel leader who made people bow to him, and converted thousands of innocent people. He added that Tipu was neither an inspirational leader nor a patriot.

Speaking on the occasion, district president of BJP, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, in a wry comment, noted that it need not come as a surprise if the government decides to celebrate birth anniversaries of Ghazni Muhammad, Ghori Mohammed, Afzal Guru and Kasab in course of time.

State president of BJP women's Morcha, Bharati Mugdum, zilla panchayat vice president, Sheela K Shetty, Vishwa Hindu Parishad district president, Vilas Nayak and others too addressed the gathering. BJP leaders, Lalaji R Mendon MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Kiran Kumar, Yashpal Suvarna, Uday Kumar Shetty, Kuilady Suresh Nayak and many others were present.

some how looks true ... I mean the article title. His arrogance, enforcing public to accept what ever he wants ... all anti Hindu initiatives... blindly doing everything just to impress minority... everything resembles to Tipu. No wonder if he is considered as Modern day Tipu.
