Mr.Sadik, please advise the Govt. not to waste tax payers money on such jayanthi's in future. If not tomorrow the Hindu's will want Ravana Jayanthi, Christians will want Mother Theresa Jayanti and the list will go on. Ultimately there will be 365 days holidays in Karnataka.

    Mr.Sadik :

Please remember that when a businessman borrows money from the bank to do business his interest clock works even on a sunday. When there are holidays d it is a very big loss for businessmen. So with your influence please write to Siddaramiah to cancel this Tippu or any other jayanthi in the state of Karnataka.

At least our district leaders like Ivan , Lobo should have told Siddu that if they want at least 10 to 15 votes in next election we should not enforce this on the public. Forget about majority. Now those few votes are also lost. any ways, the district will remember this injustice did for the whole state and also the Yethinahole project, the major injustice you did to the district also... We will teach you a lesson in next election. It's ok. Now you have power and say nothing above goct. you and your govt forgot public is above you. any ways, will ensure you remember all these things after next election. You can enjoy celebrating this Tippu Jayanthi in your house and also in other Congi followers. None else will be needed to celebrate. Also whose money you are spending boss. It's the tax payers money you are spending. "150 police personnel from Kerala have arrived, 60 CCTV cameras have been installed"... whose fathers money you are spending boss... It's ok. any ways, as I called out above. We will ensure you will remember all these in next election.

I did a depth study of Tippu and found he was supporting Hindus more than his people. He was against those people who were betraying our people by supporting white people.

He was a best ruler. His good works were hidden and projected some minor issues(That was also not clear).

I appreciate Mr.Siddaramiah for this bold decision. And wish all will celebrate this day.

Dear Prof. here most of disagree coming from the people who have sanghi version of history and the kins who supported the British. If he was a communal he would have never ever appointed Brahmin ministers in his diwan, he would not have contributed to the temples and churches. Because his bravery he was praised and admired by his enemies. Lets celebrate one of the finest freedom fighter we ever had in our land.

Was Tippu Jayanthi actually necessary in Karnataka ? All these decades we managed without it. A waste of tax payers money. But do our politicians care ?

As for the Christians of South Kanara Tippu was never a hero. He only persecuted them by taking 20000 of them walking to Srirangapatnam thinking that they were spies for the British. Many died on the way and only 2000 returned after Tippu's death in 1799. By then all their agricultural lands were lost to encroachers or looters.

The Christians who were converted by the Portugese were invited by the Keladi rulers of South Kanara as they were excellent agriculturists. They were gifted with vast lands by the Keladi King in the 1700's to boost agriculture and farming.
