Udupi: Annual Veeneya Bedagu to be held from Nov 18 to 20

Udupi, Nov 11: Professor Mysore V Subramanya, chairman and managing trustee of Swaramurthy V N Rao Memorial Trust addressing media persons said, “The annual Veene Sheshanna Memorial Sangeethotsava 'Veeneya Bedagu' has been organized by us for the last 12 years in the city. This year too we have decided to organize the same programme at Paryaya Sri Pejavara Adhokshaja Matt on November 18, 19 and 20. In the three days, there will be a workshop directed by R N Tyagarajan on special
factures of Veene Sheshanna which will be inaugurated by Sri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji, Sri Sode Vadiraja Math. Artistes from 3 different states of South India will attend the programme and perform on different musical instruments like flute, veena and others."

He also added, "In this programme, there will be two major awards presented to special achievers in the field of music. Vidwan D Balakrishna will be awarded with Veene Sheshanna Memorial National award for his achievement in the Veena, and Bombay Jayashri Ramanath will be awarded for singing.”

Sri Vishweshateertha Sripadangagala said, “The trust had also organised a similar programme at the previous Paryaya. I am happy to organize it this time. During the 2 years of Paryaya, many programmes like yoga, Sangeetha will be organized. All these programmes are on account of the devotion of activists and devotees of Sri Krishna Math.”

Treasurer of the trust Anantha Narayana, members of the welcome committee Mudhuru Balasubramanya and Umashankar, convener of the welcome committee were present at the press meet.
