Mangaluru: Yenepoya Hospital organizes 'Yen Oto-Fess 2016'

Mangaluru, Nov 12: Well-known ENT specialist from Bengaluru, Dr H Vijayendra, felt that young doctors in medical service can become successful in their profession if they invest more time and energy to achieve perfection in their profession through patience, experience and honing their expertise rather than giving more importance to amassing wealth.

He was speaking after inaugurating 'Yen Oto-Fess 2016' direct telecast of surgery and continuous learning workshop at the auditorium under the aegis of the department of Otorhinoryngology of Yenepoya Hospital Deralakatte on Friday November 11.

"In the past, postgraduate department students were not allowed to touch microscopes. But with the direct beaming of surgery for the first time in 1987, people could get rich experience in the field. At present, such surgery workshops have been regularly held every week. Young doctors should make use of modern technology, desist from getting lured by money, and discharge duties with experience, enthusiasm, and a sense of satisfaction, which will turn them into successful doctors," he felt.

Director of finance in Yenepoya University, Farhad Yenepoya, who presided over the programme, said that Yenepoya University has been working to provide effective treatment to patients with the help of doctors equipped with modern technology. He felt that workshops like these help the medical fraternity to earn more and more knowledge.

Another famous ENT surgeon from Bengaluru, Dr Deepak Haldipur, said that in the present context, doctors need to be thankful to engineers as they have been putting lot of efforts towards providing newer technologies to medical treatment.

Registrar of the university, Dr Srikumar Menon, Yenepoya Medical College dean, and Dr Gulam Geelani Khadiri, participated as chief guests.

Programme organizer, Dr Gangadhar Somayaji K S, welcomed the gathering. Dr Vijayalaxmi proposed the vote of thanks.
