Udupi, Nov 12: Senior state BJP leader K S Eshwarappa visited Sri Krishna temple on Saturday, November 12.

Eshwarappa speaking to media after the visit said, “I have been regularly visiting Krishna temple to seek blessings of Lord. The visit gives me peace for mind. I revere Sri Pejawar Swamiji,”

While reacting to the episode of primary and secondary education minister Tanvir Sait watching pornography at a public function, Eshwarappa said “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded like it was all fake and created by media people. May be Chief Minister has forgotten the past. It is common for people making mistakes. But the person should feel guilty and ask apology for his mistakes or else higher authority will punish him,”

“This is not the first time that ministers are watching porn. During the BJP term, some ministers were watching videos during Assembly session. . Immediately BJP asked them to resign. We did not defend them at all. If any party takes the matter easy, then the offender will do that same mistake again,” he added.

“The entire Karnataka has his act, which was committed during Tipu Jayanti programme. He is blaming media, that he did not commit any mistake. It is a matter which should ve condemned.” Eshwarappa said.

“I insist that Sait should ask apologize to the people of the state. Then he should resign to his post. If people forgive him, he will be made a minister again. If he does not resign voluntarily, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should dismiss him from cabinet ministry immediately.” he demanded.

“I would not like to comment on Janardhana Reddy’s daughter’s marriage, because it is a private programme. Rs 500 crore may be very small amount for him. I have no connection with this matter.” Eshwarappa said while asked about the grand wedding which will take place soon.

Regarding ‘Kanaka Nade’, Eshwarappa said, “Some unhappy souls criticized Hindu culture. Unhappy souls derive satisfaction by making comments on Seers, Temple and Hindu culture. We cannot do anything about this. I think we need not to give much importance to such issues. Even monsters have failed to defeat culture. How these rationalists can do this? It is impossible, because Hindu religion is pure one and it has a strong history.”

On the issue of the state facing severe drought, Eshwarappa said “The chief minister and ministers have already scheduled to go tour in the state. So they should first visit drought-affected areas and respective district in-charge ministers should hold a KDP meeting to hear farmers’ problems and the farmers should be compensated.

“Last year, the fund released from union government as compensation was not fully released by the government. The chief minister should call an immediate meeting of all- party members to drought famine at the state.”

While asked about former minister Jayaprakash Hegde joining BJP, he said “Decision will be taken after consulting the district BJP. Hegde is always welcome to the party if he can follow the party principles."
