Mangaluru: Hindu outfits to protest against attacks at Thokkottu on Nov 15

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Nov 13: "For condemning the increasing incidents of atrocities on Hindus in the state and to draw attention of the government, administration, and police department about attempts to silence Hindus through murder attempts and intimidating tactics, Hindu organizations will organize a mega protest meeting at Thokkottu Junction at 10 am on November 15," announced convener of Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike, M B Puranik.

Addressing a press conference held at the office of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at Kadri on Saturday November 12, he clarified that the protest is against those who meddle with peace in the society and not against any specific caste or community. "Since sometime, there have been attacks and murder attempts on Hindus, and a sense of insecurity is bothering them. People are now afraid to go out at night on their own. The concerned should understand that patience cannot be stretched perennially," he said.

He said that by organizing this protest meeting, Hindu organizations want to give a clear signal to the government, officials and police department to sit up and notice the situation Hindus are facing. He added that a crowd of about 10,000 comprising people from twin-districts and Kasargod is expected at the meeting.

Former MLC, Monappa Bhandary, felt that some organizations have been behind the attacks on Hindus inclding innocent Kartikraj who died and Rammohan who survived. He wondered as to why police are not able to zero in on those who always are busy with disrupting peace in the society.

Bajrang Dal convener, Sharan Pumpwell, VHP district president, Jagadish Shenava, Hindu Jagran Vedike district president, Kishore Kumar, BJP district general secretary, Brijesh Chowta, Bajrang Dal district convener, Puneet, and Akhil Bharatiya Vodyarthi Parishad divisional convener, Sukhesh Bekal were present.

Looking at current scenario i am really worried of environment we are living in. This is something artificially created by saffron elements further fueled by religious fanatics of other religion who do not abide by the principles of thier religion.the other day i went to a manglorean store in another city.the lady there was reading a newspaper and intentionally told me a news how a group of men burgeled a house and they were apparently muslims.my question here is why did she need to mention it to me knowing tht i am from the same religion those men were from.basically i don't owe explanation or bear the burden of other people's misdoings.i will go to my own grave and so will they .

Islam is a pure religion Islam represents peace and if a Muslim with sincerity follows the principles then he would not do such bad things.here it isnt that the men from other religions are holier as thou and never committed any crime.i am not here to make comparison. Just tht the lady i mentioned did try to incite me.yes of course i decided i will not go to that place anymore.one reason is that i did not like that she generalised my fellow community members but also somebody like her is a threat to our society. Please people keep yourself away from such hatred toward each other and also that remember tht we reap what we sow.our children may bear the brunt of all this hatred.

Taken from an article in Daiji.
"Gandhi had said: Muslims cannot be vassals of Hindus in India. Nehru had written to Shyama Prasad Mukherji that Muslims cannot but be equal citizens of this country. Hindus cannot be their patrons and guardians. Muslims and Christians will live here as they are, not in the image Hindus want to see them as"

Mr. Prof. Hope good sense prevails. Why are you dragging the whole communities into this. There are trouble makers on all the religions why generalize. Being a leader of a great religion why do you want to tarnish the same religion saying Hindus are not safe. Is not only for the vote politics you are doing. Stop this nonsense sir. You have enough security but think of the common people who lives on his own risk.

MB Puranik, stop infusing hatred in the minds of innocent Hindus, and instigating them on other communities as if you rule all Hindus. You provoke people and hide at home, making innocents suffer. Stop these dramas, and work for poor and needy. Recognize poor school going children from Hindu community and give them free education in your school. Is it possible for you? No you will not do it. You need money for your anti-social activities.

We have to fight to Curb the "GANJA" Business in Surroundings of Ullala. This is only solution to control the anti social elements of this area. All religious leaders should take this note very seriously.

Its not hindu muslim or Christian...its about communual politics by sangh parivar to polarise society and spread hate compaign...Before 2000 AD every one was happy and there was no threat to any religion..Everyone was happy practicing his religion and belief..Why all of a sudden this hue and cry and threat to Hindu religion..Its threat to communual outfits from both religions..Common man doesn't bother too much. For him daily bread matters..
Hindu religion is great and has survived many obstacles.. This great religion was not at threat during Mughal and british rule..How come there is threat to this great religion these days??? Man made and self created threats and nothing else. I live peacefully and happily with my hindu brothers and hindu neighbours..NO fight at all..We live like one family sharing and caring...

The ration of Agree and Disagree os enough for you to understand the reality.

Irespective of any division and polarizations. We need our districts to be safe and peace for all and strictly governed by Law and Enforcement and not by political parties.

    MB Puranik,
Please do not escalate the issue. Give it time to cool down.

It is common, innocent people who gets stabbed or attacked while you enjoy the secure feel at your home.

It is the responsibility of Mr. Khadar to advise his followers to keep calm and order the authorities for strict policing in the area.
