Goa's first sequel film 'Home Sweet...' to be screened in Qatar

Doha, Nov 14: After the grand success of the movie 'Home Sweet Home' in 2014 and 2015, 'Home Sweet Home 2', Goa’s first sequel was released on December 25, 2015 all over the cinema theatres in Goa, and is now set to be screened overseas beginning with Qatar. Running successfully, houseful in all theatres, and completing 900 shows in 3 months, it holds the record of highest box office collection in Goa. The film is produced by Madhav Gad and Swapnil Shetkar under the banner of Go Goa Gollywood Productions and co-produced by Ashutosh Khandekar and Charles Lobo.

Speaking on the stupendous public response the movie, Swapnil Shetkar, writer, producer and director, "The response of the people of Goa has been heart-warming and we are looking forward to the continuous support of people coming to view the movie in cinema halls and theatres. We believe that our movie had a message that stroked at the heart of every Goan and Konkani speaking community.

"As a movie the quality and production standards are competitive with other Indian language movies. We want to take Konkani movies beyond the shores of Goa to the rest of India and globally as well," expressed Madhav Gad, producer.

The first overseas show will be screened in Qatar, under the banner of Konkani Speaking Community supported by MCC, MCA and GWA. It will screened on November 18 at 4 pm at Westend Park Cinema No 4 (Asian Town), Near Grand Mall, Industrial Area.

Soon the film will be distributed globally in Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, Oman, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and other places.

Home Sweet Home 1 and 2 bring together the acting talent of two of Goa's most-loved performers - comedian John D’Silva in a never-before role and Rajdeep Naik. Noted actress Samiksha Desai plays the lead heroine of the film while Prince Jacob in a special role depicts the former chief minister of Goa. Other supporting actors are Prasad Naik, Satish Gawas, Anil Raikar, Luis Bachan and many others.

In Qatar, the first international premier will be inaugurated by writer, director and producer Swapnil Shetkar and famous lead actors Rajdeep Naik and John D’Silva. Main sponsor of the event is Oman Air and the official hotel is Mercure Grand Hotel.
