Bantwal: Two men enter shop - attack owner with sharp weapons

Bantwal, Nov 14: In an incident which occurred at Shirankallu in Kanyana near Vittal in the taluk on Sunday November 13, two persons reportedly entered a shop on silly issue and attacked its owner with lethal weapons.

Owner of the shop, Abubakker (58), resident of Shirankallu in Kanyana, who was at the receiving end of this attack, suffered injuries, and got admitted into the community health centre at Vittal. Chandrahas and Dinesh from Kanyana have been accused of coming to Abubakker's shop armed, and attacking him.

It is said that the duo came to Abubakker's shop in a motor bike and talked to him in the guise of customers interested in buying something. They then attacked him. Immediately people gathered at the shop, at which the attackers developed cold feet and ran away. As tension gripped Kanyana downtown after this incident, policemen asked the shops and establishments to down their shutters.

Reportedly, the attack was relating to the disappearance of a girl from Kanyana Pilinguli with Sameer from Shirankallu in Kanyana. Abubakker is father of Sameer.
