Mangaluru, Nov 14: “Students should have a definite goal, far-sight, helpful attitude towards others and achieve the impossible by using their handicap to their advantage,” said Calistus D'Sa, headmaster of Roman and Katherine Blind Children's School. He addressed the students and parents at the children's day programme 'Regale – 2016'.

“Students should progress with the ideals of Helen Keller who defied blindness and hearing loss and became world famous,” he said.

School administrator Fr Wilson Vitus D'Souza in his message said that Children's Day is the birth anniversary of the first Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru who was the symbol of love towards children. “As children are future leaders, love them, take interest in them and make them grow so that they may love their families,” he said.

School principal Fr Robert D'Souza in his keynote address stressed on quality and value based education. “Regale 2016 brings families closer and improves family ties.” Chief guests were honored with a memento and gifts on the occasion.

Management committee vice president Stany Vas, Bejai church pastoral committee, school committee member Augustine Rodrigues, vice principal Belita Mascarenhas, parent teacher association vice president Arathi Shetty were present on the dais. Several entertainment, cultural programmes and competitions were held on the occasion.

Roman and Catherine Blind School students presented a special dance. Teacher Shanti welcomed the gathering. Shamitha, Deepa and Leesa compered the programme. Teacher Ivan proposed the vote of thanks. Regale 2016 was set in motion after releasing balloons into the air. Food stalls and game counters were opened for the programme.
