Mangaluru, Nov 14: Even as people struggle to lay their hands on the new Rs 2,000 currency note, another incident of fake Rs 2,000 note was reported on Monday November 14, this time from Thokkottu.

A fisherman near Kallapu in Thokkottu here found that he had been cheated with a fake Rs 2,000 note.

The fisherman, identified as Mustafa from Ullal, sells fish in his tempo near Kallapu. On Monday afternoon, he had several customers, many of whom bought fish worth Rs 500 with Rs 2,000 notes and got the change in return. Mustafa accepted all the high currency notes without any problem.

However, in the evening when he was counting his collection for the day, he found that one of the Rs 2,000 notes was fake. The note had been printed from a colour printer, and moreover, the colour and design had faded as the note had come in contact with water.

With images of the new note easily available online, fake note racketeers have already begun duplicating and circulating the new currency notes. Another such case was recently reported from Chikkamagaluru.

Mustafa said that he would soon file a complaint with Ullal police.

How can you people term this as a failure of Modi government? There were Fake notes before and there will be fake notes in the future. It is upto the receiver of currency to check whether the currency is fake or real.

I want to ask media... why were the incidents of fake notes of 1000 and 500 were not reported in the same way?

Despite having 56 inch bravado he asked nakli 'gau rakshaks' to shoot him first instead killing innocents. Now who will save India when counterfit is started before it released?

    MORE MEANS HOW MUCH MORE?
WHEN GOVERNMENT SET THE LIMIT OF 4,000 FOR EXCHANGING CURRENCY AND ANY INDIVIDUAL GETTING 2 X 2000 CURRENCY IN THIS FORMAT WHAT IS HIS BALANCE "0". GOVERNMENT IS SAYING THAT, IT IS HARD TO DUPLICATE, FORFEIT NEW CURRENCY, WHILE IN REALITY WE HAVE FEW INCIDENTS OF FAKE CURRENCY. SO, WILL GOVERNMENT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS AND REPLACE WITH GENUINE ONE.
