Bantwal, Nov 15: In a rare gesture of sincerity, a pedestrian here returned to the owner, gold jewellery found by him on the road. The jewellery weighed 380 grams.

Hameed, a resident of Balthila Neerupade found a plastic bag covered with paper on the side of the road on November 13. When he opened the packet, he found jewellery in it. Unable to know what to do next, he came and showed the packet to Balthila grama panchayat member Shivakumar requesting to hand over the packet to its owner.

Shivakumar and Hameed went to Bantwal town police station. They handed over the packet to the police and requested to make sure that the jewellery reaches the owner.

Little later, Panemangaluru resident Narasimha Prabhu had come to the police station to complain about his missing jewellery. He explained to the police the details of the ornaments lost by him. Police who were convinced that the jewellery belonged to Narasimha Prabhu, called Hameed and Shivakumar and handed over the gold jewellery to Narasimha Prabhu in their presence.

Hameed's sincerity and Shivakumar's social concern as the member of grama panchayat are being commended in public circles. Bantwal DySP Ravish C R, Bantwal town police inspector Nandakumar and senior police officials were present on the occasion.

@Sagar, let us stop Minority/Majority, think about humanity. I bet 90% of our population honest where as 10% black sheep are dragged into minority/majority games resulted in hatred/ crime in the society. Let us spread the goodness and reject divisive mindset. May almighty bless brother Hameed & all. Jai Hind.!!!

In the picture his personality looks financial unsound and jewellery looks consisting of hefty amount. This is called God fear which is rarely seen unlike we seen nowadays thieves not even sparing temples.
Hamid Bhai surely you will get the reward hereafter. May Allah bless you and your family.
