Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Nov 16: Social activist T Narasimha Murthy has lodged a complaint with Income Tax Department regarding lavish wedding of the daughter of mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy.

Brahmini Reddy is getting married to Rajiv Reddy a businessman from Hyderabad on Wednesday.

In the complaint addressed to the Director General of Income Tax, Murthy has stated “The wedding is scheduled in Bengaluru Palace Grounds on November 16. Preliminary religious programmes are in progress there. Therefore a team of Income Tax officials should be deployed there to keep an eye on expenditure starting from engagement till the wedding,”

“It is said that Rs 6 crore was spent for the invitation card and the entire wedding will cost whopping Rs 650 crore. Therefore, the expenditure should be monitored.” Murthy says in the complaint.

Murthy has warned of legal action if the Income Tax department fails to take appropriated measure in the case.

This man keeps insulting the law time and again. On the one hand, the people of this country are starving and on the other, this fellow is flaunting the wealth he looted when he was the minister in the BJP government. Is there no law for this man or the government thinks that he is above law? Or is his wealth all white? If this is white money, then what is black money? Why can't the government go after him and arrest him?

Reddy wedding extravaganza is just one extreme example with what is wrong with our society.

Our system allows dishonest and crooked people to amass wealth. Our taxes forces people to evade them. These people are role models for many. We have our own Reddy's in coastal districts. They cut ribbons, give us upadesha's on black money after they have made theirs white.

I sometimes think the corruption has become genetic in Indians and it is inherited by our children. The tax laws based on british system has allowed this corruption gene to become strong in our DNA.
We also perceive religion as a transaction . We pay money to God and seek favors. Reddy has built golden crown for the deity out of the black money !!!

Reddy is spending all his expenses with newly issued currency. How can we expect him to manage this with black money. Nevertheless, point to be pondered is how he secured this hard currency just few days before of wedding ? it's not a million dollar question but this question is worth billion rupees !!!!
