Mangaluru: J F D'Souza Attavar's Konkani book 'Hasoch Haso' released

Mangaluru, Nov 17: Veteran Konkani writer Dolphy Cascia released writer J F D'Souza Attavar's new joke's book 'Hasoch Haso' in press club on Thursday, November 17.

Speaking on the occasion, Dolphy said "J F D'souza has been a very big name in children's literature. He has been writing in Konkani since 1960. He started writing through Jhelo magazine. In the Bhangarache (Golden) series of children's stories, he has published 9 books and this is his 11th book. He has won the prestigious Konkani Sahitya Academy award in 2004 in children's category. He has also been the recipient of various awards for his literary work since several years."

"J F D'Souza is a social activist. He is concerned about the civic issues. He has written more than 5,500 letters to the editors. They have been published in various newspapers and magazines in many languages." Dolphy added.

J F D'Souza Attavar said that since one year he had been trying to release the book but it has been finally released now. "I will publish 5 more books in the golden series which have been already penned. But reduction in readers is a matter of concern", he said.

Veteran writer Maccha Milar, JF D’Souza Attavar's wife and retired teacher Tressy Pinto, A D'Souza and others were present at the occasion.
