Mangaluru: Year of Mercy culminates with lighting of torch by bishop Aloysius

Mangaluru, Nov 20: Marking the conclusion of the Year of Mercy in Mangaluru diocese, the bishop of the diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza on Sunday November 20 lit the souvenir torch in the Rosario Cathedral premises here.

 

The lighting of the torch signified that it was not the end of the Year of Mercy but the light of Year of Mercy spread in all directions.

Vicar general of the diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Rosario parish priest Fr J B Crasta, director of Rishivana Fr Pius James, M P Noronha along with many religious and Catholics were present.

A retreat by Fr Victor Machado of St Joseph Seminary and parish priest of Borimar church Fr Melwyn Noronha was also held.

Nearly ten thousand Catholics in and around the city participated in the retreat.
