Udupi: Dist-level 'Yuvajanotsava' inaugurated at MGM College

Udupi, Nov 21: District-level 'Yuvajanotsava 2016-17' organized by district authority, zilla panchayat and youth empowerment and sports department here, was inaugurated at Ravindra Kala Mantapa MGM, College in the city on Sunday November 20.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinkar Babu, president of zilla panchayat said, “The participants were less in number as it was a district level fest. If this fest was organized in rural areas, children of that place would have participated more in number. Government is providing facilities and encouraging students through these activities. Students should make use of these opportunities and develop their talents.”

Priyanka Mary Francis, CEO of zilla panchayat said, “This is a good platform for showcasing talents. Students should have all round development along with good academics. In future, many other students should be encouraged to participate in such programmes.”

A variety cultural programme was performed by students on the occasion.

Dr Roshan Shetty, assistant director, youth empowerment and sports department Udupi, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, CMC president Udupi was present.
