Mangaluru: 'Vishwa Tuluvere Ayono' from Dec 9-13 to celebrate Tulunadu

Mangaluru, Nov 21: 'Vishwa Tuluvere Ayono-2016', a five-day mega programme aimed at celebrating the rich culture and vibrant diversity of Tulunadu, will be held from December 9 to 13 at Badiadka in Kasargod district, informed Sarvotham Shetty, president of Vishwa Tuluvere AAyono.

Addressing media persons here on Monday November 21, Sarvotham Shetty said, "Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkootta, Kerala Tulu Academy and Prasar Bharati Broadcasting Corporation - Akashavani here along with Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Odiyoor Gram Vikas Yojana, Kasargod and Times of Kudla Tulu daily will hold 'Vishwa Tuluvere Ayono' to mark the 10th anniversary of Tuluvere Ayono Kooto (R), Badiadka.

"The programme will be held from December 9 to 13 at Badiadka on the theme 'Caste, sect, language and harmony of Tulunadu'. The programme is also a unification of various languages of Tulunadu. There will be various programmes on Tulu culture and folklore of Tulunadu. The programme will emphasize on the need to include Tulu language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution," he informed.

"About three lac Tuluvas are expected to part in the programme from various parts of the world," he added.

"Vishwa Tuluvere Ayono 'Tulu Ratna' award will be conferred on Tulu litterateurs and multilingual researchers Dr U P Upadyaya and Dr Amrut Someshwar on the occasion. On December 11, the programme will be held exclusively for NRI Tuluvas.

"The entire programme will cost Rs 2 crore and demonetization has hit us badly. Hence, we request the NRI Tuluvas to contribute generously to make this programme a grand success," he appealed.

Chief secretry of Vishwa Tuluvere Ayono, Dr Rajesh Alva Badiadka and others were present.
