Mangaluru, Nov 21: Immoral rowdyism, or moral policing, raised its ugly head again in the district, as five persons allegedly assaulted a boy and a girl belonging to different communities while they were travelling by bus in Ullal near here on Monday November 21.

Tauseef and Nizamuddin

It is learnt that two college students, a boy and a girl, had been to Someshwar beach on Monday. On their way back to their college by bus, five persons who noticed them barged inside, pulled them out and allegedly assaulted them.

Among the five assaulters, two have been taken into custody, sources said. They have been identified as Tauseef and Nizamuddin. Three other accused, including a person named Waqar, managed to escape.

The incident took place at Paris junction in Ullal.

The girl is said to be from Mangaluru while the boy is reportedly a native of Ranchi in Jharkhand. They were taken to Ullal police station for inquiries.

An FIR is yet to be registered.

It is because of such people that Mangalore gets negative publicity. This is not what we want to be known for. Appeal to the police to catch all those responsible and punish them severely. Also, to take drastic steps to curb this menace.

Wah ! how efficient our police are. They even able to publish photo of assaulters. If the assaulters were Cheddi group, the victims would have been taken to police station, summoned their parents and the rowdies would have been treated as hero. Honestly, I do not support moral rowdyism. However, this was first started by Cheddies and now it is followed by others as well. Same like Advani's rathyathra and demolition of old monument leading to forming of terrorism in India. Police dept. should act impartially without having soft corner towards any group.

These Immoral rowdies should be made naked and thrashed in front of everyone.
At the same time why do we blame Police dept. Just because they are alert these two rowdies are caught, made their photos published in the media, and I am sure by now other three rowdies are also must have been caught.

Moral police of different community and they are over possessive of their sisters. Protecting them from all dangers and others sisters are taken for granted.
The trend of moral policing is spreading among different communities. Police must take strict action against those who go against law of land.

The strictest of punishment should be implemented. The assaulters from whichever community should be handed criminal offence sentences & jailed for a year & hard labour . I hope the chief minister walks his talk & takes action immediately.

never ending story of Mangaluru... Let people live their lives... what business is it of anybody if a boy and girl fall in love.. If at all they have their elders who perhaps will 'discuss' matters with them.. Not 'honour killing' please..!!
As good parents we need to train children to make good decisions for life.. Rest is their lookout..
