Guruvayoor, Jan 13 (mb): Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will be offering prayers at the famous Sree Krishna Temple here on Monday and will be weighed with lotus flowers and plantains too.

Modi, who arrives Sunday evening, will be bringing the lotus flowers, the symbol of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"We have been told that Modi would be offering two 'tulabarams'. This means he would sit on one side of the scale and the equivalent weight would be put on the other side. We have been told he would do two 'tulabarams', one using lotus flowers and the other using 'kathalipazham' (a high quality plantain)," temple official R Narayanan told.

Narayanan further added that Modi would bring some flowers with him and the temple would supplement the rest.

"He would be making the 'tulabaram' Monday early morning at 5 am. Right now we do not know if other family members would accompany him for the temple 'darshan'. His security staff has already arrived," Narayanan added.

Modi would arrive in the evening at the Kochi airport and would drive down to the guesthouse here where he would stay for the day.
