Kundapur: Ghastly accident claims life of biker - vehicles catch fire

Kundapur, Nov 23: In a macabre accident which took place near Shirur check post in the taluk in the early hours on Wednesday November 22, a motor bike rider lost his life. A truck which collided with the motor bike, dragged it along national highway 66 for about two kilometres.

The victim has been identified as Lohit Shetty (44) from Kaluvadi, Ganganadu near Byndoor. Lohit had arrived at the petrol bunk near Shirur check post from Ganganudu by taking an inner road. The accident occurred when he was returning after getting petrol for his two-wheeler.

In the meanwhile, fire engulfed the truck, giving rise to panic in the region. Byndoor police have registered a case and investigation has been set into motion.
