Mangaluru: ATMs begin dispensing Rs 500 currency notes - banks less crowded

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Nov 23: From Tuesday November 22, a number of ATMs in the twin-districts began to dispense Rs 500 notes. With this, lesser crowds were witnessed at banks. Some of the ATMs continue to be dysfunctional, and it is hoped that things will normalize in a few days.

While most of the ATMs of public sector banks are operational, several private bank ATMs failed to operate on Tuesday. There has also been noticeable reduction in the number of people willing to exchange old currency notes. Till now, because only Rs 2000 notes were mostly issued by banks, customers were facing problem of change. With the new Rs 500 currency notes, this problem is likely to be addressed. Banks too expect the situation to improve a lot within three to four days.

It is gathered that the coastal districts received fresh stock of currency notes of Rs 20, 100 and 500 denominations on a large scale on Tuesday.

Mr. Modi has authorized his lieutenants (Venkaiah Naidu, Jaitely, Rajnath Singh etc.) to deal with the matter. The Chief is watching the situation confidently and may enter the battle field only if things are not resolved.

Mangalore is a well established city as 5 of the major banks i.e., Canara Bank, Corp Bank, Vijaya Bank, Karnataka Bank and Syndicate Bank have their birth place in south kanara. So mangalore is safe from demonitisation.

When the beef exporter can help his friends, political parties in this scheme, then it is not a big issue for him to support the Mangaloreans... More over the MP of the district is absent from Parliament session...

    kas,

Why do you bring up beef export issue. Do you know that the meat exported could be of BUBALUS BUBALIS(google it for more info) rather than meat of BOS TAURUS (again google it for more info).
