PM Arrives in China on Three-day Visit

IANS

Beijing, Jan 13 (mb): Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here early Sunday to start a three-day visit to China.

While the official part of his visit begins only Monday, Singh - on his first trip here - will visit the Olympic Games Centre and have a private dinner with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao.

He also meets members of a strong Indian business delegation who came here ahead of him to discuss problems and prospects of doing business with China, a country that has turned out to be one of India's biggest trade partners in recent years. Accompanying the business delegation is Commerce Minister Kamal Nath.

Manmohan Singh will be welcomed ceremonially on Monday at the Great Hall of the People.
