Udupi: Drawing competition held for school children on Padubidri beach

Udupi, Nov 24: Rotary Club Padubidri and Sai Radha Heritage jointly held a drawing competition for school children as part of Children's Day celebrations in Padubidri beach on Saturday, Nov 19.

"Well known cartoonist P Mohammed drew a beautiful picture of the sea shore and set the competitions in motion. Speaking on the occasion, he said that if children are provided colour and white paper, it eventually converts into a hobby. It gives an outlet for the feelings of children. All round development of children is possible by activities such as drawings," he said.

Padubidri Rotary Club president Haji Abdul Hameed presided over the programme and welcomed the gathering. Rotary Club zone 5 assistant governor Dr Gururaj, Sai Radha Heritage's Vittal, Rotary Club former president Madhava Suvarna, Vishwas V Amin, Laxman Poojary and others were present. Santhosh Padubidri proposed the vote of thanks. Sudhakar Padubidri compered the programme.

Padubidri Rotary Club president Abdul Hameed presided over the concluding programme in the evening. Zilla panchayat member Shashikanth Padubidri, Sai Radha Heritage's Vittal, Rotary zone's former serviceman Srinivasa Rao, Padubidri agricultural Co-operative Bank's Y Sudheer Kumar, Padubidri Kadipatna Mogaveera Mahasabha president Ashok Salian, artiste Venki Palimar, former Rotary district assistant governor Madhava Suvarna, zonal organizer Gangadhar Salian, former president Vishwas V Amin, programme organizer Santhosh Padubidri and others were present. 206 students from various schools participated in the competitions.
