Belagavi, Nov 25: Criminal investigation department (CID) , to which the controversy relating to minister, Tanveer Sait viewing indecent photograph on cell phone during Tipu Jayanti celebrations was referred to, has officially submitted the report to the government. As per sources, Tanveer Sait has been declared innocent in the case.

The findings of the department, it is said, are that the minister had just scrolled the WhatsApp message forwarded in a group by one of the group members. The photo, about which lot of din was raised, was that of the wife of American president, Donald Trump. Her photos had appeared in various websites during the presidential election, and the minister also received one such forward, the CID has found.

CID had checked the phone of the minister and then had sent the same to experts. CID has also taken relevant statement from the minister.

It is believed that as the position mainly BJP had the plan to raise the issue of Tanveer Sait episode in the second week of Assembly and Council Session, chief minister Siddaramaiah took the report before that from CID. Once the CID report is made public, the issue will not be raised in the Assembly and Council, believes chief minister.

Meanwhile, Tanveer Sait has tried his best to convince the opposition in private that he was not at fault and hence the issue should not be raised during the Session.

It is claimed that he has already convinced many of the JD(S) legislators.

Some analysts say that even after report from CID is made public, BJP is likely to raise the issue with a different angle.
