Udupi, Nov 26: White Doves, an NGO which runs homes for destitutes and is engaged in various other social works, presented its annual Christmas mobile act and singing show '2016-year-old Fact in a Mobile Act' at Christian College grounds here on Friday November 25 marking its 22nd mobile show.

Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo addressing the occasion said, "God sent his only Son for the welfare of mankind. On experiencing the pain of the human race, he transformed into a common man sent by the Lord. One can see God in the economically deprived. A great man is one who finds God in the poor and helps them. Hence God became a common man to make the poor richer."

Everyone is 'God's child' and the act of sharing and caring for one another was one of the rich concepts brought out through the show which was appreciated by the bishop.

Bishop Gerald wished the entire team all the best and prayed that the Lord will strengthen the organisation to carry out their service in society.

The life of St Lawrence unfolded through songs and a play by White Doves.

Around 100 artistes performed at the show and entertained the people through their moving performance.

Corrine Rasquinha, founder of White Doves spoke a few words. She said that she founded this home for the destitutes and forgot her pain. 22 years are now over. This is her dream child.

Corrine's voice blended with the artiste's giving it a devotional touch and conveyed the background of Christmas.

Vitus Rasquinha, trustee of White Doves, Dennis D'Sa, Sadanand Kanchan, Gladson Salins, Vinod Jathanna, Stevan Christmath, Rajesh and Johna Martis, Rev Salins and others were present.

Pramod Goni of United Basel Mission welcomed the audience.

Tanisha Maben compered the programme.

White Doves, a proud NGO located in Mangaluru, was created to share and care for their inmates irrespective of age. For the past 21 years the organization has been taking care of over 500 destitutes and mentally challenged inmates.
