Mangaluru: Nation is moving towards economic bankruptcy with demonetisation: Dinesh Gundu Rao

Mohan Kuthar
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Nov 27: "The nation is moving towards economic bankruptcy as a consequence of demonetisation. Modi has made the poor and farmers suffer. Time has come now to ask whether we are under democracy or dictatorship,” said Dinesh Gundu Rao, the working president of KPCC.

He was addressing 'Yuva Milan' and a protest rally against the union government over demonetisation, organised by Youth Congress units of Mangaluru Assembly constituency and Ullal town.

"The rich people have their money abroad. Only the daily labourers, farmers and poor people who had saved for weddings and other necessary things, have lost money. They will be on streets soon. Modi government is responsible for this. Even traders do not have cash now. Eight lac people have lost employment this year. Why were sufficient currency notes not printed in advance? The Prime Minister is busy travelling to foreign countries. Why he is not speaking in the Parliament? Congress too had seized black money worth crores of rupees. But we did not seek publicity,” Gundu Rao added.

"Modi cheated people in the name of cow protection. But India reached no 1 spot in meat exports after BJP came to power. BJP does not talk about this because their MPs are involved in meat export. So far 70 people have lost lives because of demonetisation. Small businesses are going to close down soon which will benefit the big companies. Banks have made losses of around Rs 5,000 crore so far. About 30% of the population relies on cash transactions for business. How can they be told to do cashless business and go to bank all of a sudden? Modi does not have concern for the poor. Nation cannot prosper under him," he lashed out.

Mangaluru MLA and minister U T Khader said, "Modi does not cry because the 70 people who died because of demonetisation are not his friends, but the poor people. Ullal region should show the whole state that Congress is strong throughout Karnataka."

State Women's Congress president Lakshmi Hebbalkar said, "BJP is trying to make Ullal a communally sensitive area to gain votes. Congress with a strong and long history need not learn from BJP about governance. Common people cannot be forced to buy essentials using debit and credit cards. Modi is enjoying life by wearing expensive suits. People should understand that they make jokes on Rahul Gandhi and fool people."

District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said, "Only the poor are standing in queues, and not the thieves, crooks, con artistes and right-wing fundamentalists. These people are busy sending money abroad. Modi lied about his wife during elections and now he made his mother stand in queue for money. No woman can expect safety under Modi's regime."

Ullal block Congress president Ishwar Ullal, district Women's Congress president Shalet Pinto and others were present in the rally.

And there are some henchmen of BJP in this Forum who use abusive personal language/attack.
    SB one of them.
You use your real name and will deal with you when I come down.
100 times I told that I am not against the move. But against the arrangements to withdraw cash.
Punish the black money holders and the real culprits. If the government cannot fight why the public needs to bear the brunt.

I am a NRI account holder and have kept all savings in India. Today I have to wait in the queue to withdraw my own legal savings. Modi should punish those who have black money. The Political leaders are not suffering.
I had a plan to come down on holidays. I have postponed to Jan still I do not know how I can have cash to spend during my holidays.

If you can arrange me it will be welcome. I have no time and energy to stand in the queue. Do not boast so much. I can issue a check in your name but can arrange me Rs. 1 Lakh.
My 40 years saving is lying in Indian banks. why I should suffer due cash crunch???? Yes I am frustrated and from your comments my blood is boiling. Mind it!

Fisherman now on in cycles will now come to sell the fish with a debit card machine. If they can not their livelihood is lost. Is it going to affect any Mallya or Lalit Modi or Ambani? No. It is going to affect the poor fisherman and women.

This kind of problem will be felt by millions and millions of Indians who are engaged with small business.

There are many bhakts who will make you count many things. But, they wont have answers for these poor people.

    True,

No one supports the bundh.., yes it is a fact.., but to know the real truth, .... do some homework & intelligent investigation.., you will realise how the unknown hand target the participants by using the govt administrative machinery. No one open their mouth...., even corporate stalwarts like NR Murthy, Tata etc., are probably tutored to talk infavor of demonitisation.., though they fully well know that it affect the common man severely...,

Banning notes not going to stop corruption.., instead it save the corrupts & black money hoarders (many of them are having business in & around carstreet/bundar/M'lore who are patrons of the present govt at the center).

On a lighter side.., poor people of Hindustan would have been much relieved had our honorable PM remain in foreign tour.

The problem is rich wants to remain rich and poor the poorer. With all the education system, self-analysis and situations people are just happy to remain where are they now & get used/abused by these politicians with their ill and very selfish mentality. There is no god fearing, no morals neither any goodness. Just USE anyone and live their royal life. GOD knows what fate their children’s end up with.... because we all forget that KARMA PAYS OFF in the END.
May god bless all with the good heart and kindness so we all humans peacefully end this journey of life with the eternal truth.

Total united civil disobedience or revolution is the only way to bring some relief and ease poor mans day to day life. It is understood (from some experts) that the present situation cash crunch, ATM's non-functioning or shortage of money printing capabilities may continue for another four to six months. Who will reimburse or recover all the economic and other losses.?
