Mangaluru: Students from DK win medals at National Swimming Championship in Rajkot

Mangaluru, Nov 27: Swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club and Mangalore Aquatic Club clinched one gold and two silvers at the 62nd Nationals School Games Federation Swimming Championship at Rajkot on Saturday, November 26. 

Neil Mascarenhas won his first national gold medal clocking 34.6 in 50 metres breast stroke in the under 14 category .He is 13 years old and a student of 8th standard from St. Philomena High School, Puttur.

Manohar Prabhu from Puttur Aquatic Club won a silver medal clocking 32.26 in 50 metres breast stroke in the under 17 category. He is a student of 10th standard at St. Aloysius High School, Mangaluru.

Javin M U from Mangalore Aquatic Club won a silver in the 4x100 metres freestyle relay in the under 14 category. Javin MU is a student of 8th standard at Canara High school, Urwa, Mangaluru.

Neil, Manohar and Javin train at the Balawana Swimming Pool, Puttur and at the Mangala swimming pool, Mangaluru. They are coached by Partha Varanashi, Vasanth Kumar and Niroop G.R, Yajnesh and Rohit.
