Mangalore: YCS Holds ‘Yuva Christotsav’ at Rosario Hall

Mangalore, Jan 15: ‘Yuva Christotsav,’ organized by Young Christian Students (YCS) of Mangalore Diocese was held at Rosario Cathedral hall here on Tuesday January 15.

Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of Mangalore Diocese inaugurated the programme.

Fr Onil D’Souza, director of Canara Organizational Development Programme (CODP) was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion he said that Jesus Christ was a revolutionary who changed the systems of the world. He called upon all to become revolutionaries like him to reform the society, he added.

Jesus Christ was born in a crib as a poor man. He had no schooling never wrote any book. He never traveled more than 200 km, but he became the centre of the history of human kind. While writing history, eras are divided as ‘Before Christ (BC)’ and ‘Anno Domino (AD)’. Countless books have been written on him, he informed.



Udupi district YCS president Jithesh, Mangalore YCS president Anup Lobo, secretary Benedicta, Karnataka YCS president Prithesh Noronha and YCS Mangalore Diocese director Fr Ronald D’Souza were present on the dais.


Various competitions and cultural programmes on the Bible were held after the talk. More than 450 YCS members studying in PUC participated in this programme.
