Mangaluru: Vinayak Baliga murder case - SC serves notice to Naresh Shenoy

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Nov 29: The Supreme Court (SC), which admitted the application filed by Ramachandra Baliga, father of slain Vinayak P Baliga, questioning the bail granted to main accused, Naresh Shenoy, by Karnataka high court, ordered to serve notice to Naresh Shenoy. It also asked the government to furnish details of investigation conducted so far relating to the murder of Vinayak P Baliga.

Vinayak P Baliga, an RTI activist from the city, was murdered by assailants near his home on March 21. Naresh Shenoy, who had absconded, was arrested on June 26. His bail application was rejected by the district sessions court. He thereafter had sought bail through the high court, which upheld his petition and granted bail on September 25.

Ramachandra Baliga had approached the SC, questioning the HC's action of granting bail to Naresh Shenoy even before the investigation into Vinayak's murder case concluded. Serving of notice to Naresh Shenoy has been ordered. After Naresh Shenoy appears before SC through his lawyer, arguments on this application will take place, said Ravindranath Kamath, advocate for Baliga family.

Thanks to a few good ppl who r relentlessly pursuing this case, which common man is in a position to knock on the apex court for justice!

Definitely many big fishes r involved which is clear from the stoic silence maintained by those in power along all party lines!

    WISH JUSTICE PREVAILS!

Yes few good people were following up and pursuing the case.
    1. Baliga fought for injustice - Like our freedom fighters fought for the country.

    2. Baliga was RTI activist , the ones who make the real difference in India ( Demonetization is not the only way to curb black money).

    3. Any region, town, city does not overnight become lawless and corrupt. It is the silence of the vast majority of Mangaloreans allows for the likes of the " accused" to become more daring.

    4. We had time for Wine mela : record number of sales of 16 lakhs !! We do not have time to support Baliga case.

It is our silence that allows the politicians in Mangalore irrespective of their deeds to keep giving us speeches on demonetization, education and what is right and wrong.

It is our silence that allows them to keep cutting ribbons at various functions. Remember .. not a single politician has said anything so far on Baliga murder.

Let us not forget the silence of all the local politicians, GSB community leaders,so called protectors of our culture groups .
My question to all of them : why don't you side with the truth but you side with only when it is convenient for you?

What surprises me is the stoic silence of all major parties in this particular case! Except for the left parties, no one has come to the streets to demand justice for Vinayak Baliga.

Should we infer that all these party differences are an eyewash and behind the scenes everyone is hand in glove?
