Udupi: Educare hosts spectacular kids entertainment show 'Bala Mela'

Udupi, Dec 1: Educare group, Sasthan in collaboration with Child Welfare Department Brahmavar, organized, its third consecutive year of 'Bala Mela - 2015', an entertainment programme for kids, at Government Primary School, Pandeshwar on November 27. More than 700 kids from 52 different playschools from Brahmavar and the surrounding areas participated. The students were accompanied by their teachers for the one day mela.

The Chief Guest for the event was Sandhya Shenoy, International stand-up comedian. Huligavva S Joger, director, Child Welfare Department, Brahmavar; Shoba Shetty, senior supervisor, Child Welfare Department, Udupi; Laxmi, senior supervisor, Child Welfare Department, Kota division; K Leelavathi, senior supervisor, Child Welfare Department, Saligrama division. Narendra Kumar, writer and amp; lecturer, VJC High School, Kota; Raghu Poojary, president, Seva Sangama Shishu Mandira; Dr Raghavendra Rao, Government Healthcare, Saligrama; Genevieve Lewis, head miss, Pandeshwar Higher Primary School, Pandeshwar and amp; Stephen Rodrigues, president, Edu-care, Sasthan were the other dignitaries on the dais. The guests symbolically inaugurated the Bala Mela by lighting the lamp.

A number of competitions and games were organised for the children and they actively participated in all the events. The children performed in the cultural event as well, wherein they portrayed their talents through dance, singing and enactment of plays.

All the 721 kids were provided certificates as gifts. Teachers of all the 52 playschools were felicitated for their contributions. The main attractions for the kids were sweet shops, tattoo shops and balloon vendors’ setup for free.

Stephen Rodrigues, president, Educare and his entire team were present at the occasion. The programme was compered by Raghvendra Raj.
