Beltangady, Dec 1: A man was brutally murdered at Ujire here late night on Wednesday November 30, reportedly over a property dispute.

Annu (35), a resident of Kolya, was stabbed to death allegedly by persons named Girish and Venkatesh.

The incident took place near SR Bar in Ujire town.

Sources said that Annu was the owner of a property opposite to SR Bar. He was a mason by profession.

Beltangady police who swung into action arrested Venkatesh (30) and Girish (29) within a span of just three hours. They were arrested from a spot opposite Ujire Janardhan temple.

As per the complaint filed in Beltangady police station, at around 10.15 pm on Wednesday, Annu came to a petty shop near SR Bar, and just when he was getting off from his bike, Venkatesh and Girish surrounded him and grabbing his head, they stabbed his stomach repeatedly with knives. The bar owner and passersby rushed to the spot on hearing Annu's screams. The assailants stabbed him repeatedly again and fled from the spot. A critically injured Annu died on the spot.

Both the accused were known to the victim, the complaint stated.

It is said that there was property dispute between the families of Annu and Girish, which might have led to the murder.

Beltangady SI Ravi and other police personnel were part of the arrest operation.

A case has been registered in Beltangady police station and investigations are on.

    BUT LATER MANY CRIMINALS ESCAPE WITH THE HELP OF LAWYERS. ANOTHER LAW SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED, THOSE LAWYERS WHO SUPPORT CRIMINALS TO BE GIVEN CAPITAL PUNISHMENT.!!!
