Bengaluru, Dec 5: The government-owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has temporarily suspended its service to Tamil Nadu (TN), after its buses came under attack in TN in the aftermath of cardiac arrest suffered by its chief minister Jayalalithaa.

To handle the situation arising out of any untoward development, policemen in considerable strength have been posted at Anekal and Attibele connecting TN. Most of the roads connecting TN have been closed. As such, vehicular traffic has been very less at Attibele and other places. A few vehicles transporting goods and private vehicles were seen to be moving around. Police have kept a close watch on developments to see that no untoward incidents happen in these regions.

Four miscreants who came in motor bikes had tossed beer bottles at the buses returning to the city after going to Chennai at Tiruvannamalai on Sunday December 4 night. Window glasses of both the buses were shattered as a result. Luckily, no one was injured in this incident. The drivers took buses to nearby police station and filed complaint. Investigation into the incident has been taken up, it is gathered.

Fans of Jayalalithaa have been overtaken by emotion at the sudden news of their leader suffering from cardiac arrest. Even as fans in Chennai gathered around Apollo Hospital, people from TN living in Srirampura here have been offering prayers and puja for speedy recovery of their Amma and Puratchi Thalaivi since the time they got the said news. Under the orders of city police commissioner, N S Megharikh, officials have stationed policemen in satellite bus station, and areas like Srirampura, Okalipuram etc where there is concentration of people from TN.
