Belagavi: BJP chief tells leaders not to attend Rayanna Brigade's convention

Belagavi, Dec 6: State president of BJP, B S Yeddyurappa, said that party leaders have been given strict instructions not to take part in the programme being held by Rayanna Brigade at Nandgad in the district. This includes K S Eshwarappa. If any of them violate this instruction and participate in the programme, they are liable to face disciplinary action from the party high command, he warned.

Speaking to media persons at the airport here on Monday December 5, Yeddyurappa said that the concerned have been told not to hold convention of backward classes under the banner of Rayanna Brigade, as the party already has a morcha working for this cause. "If the leaders take part in the programme, high command will serve notice and take further steps. "I hope that K S Eshwarappa and other leaders take note of the seriousness of the issue and desist from associating themselves with the Brigade by changing their defiant stance," he stressed.

Yeddyurappa noted that large amount of money was found in the houses of officers known to be close to the chief minister and PWD minister during income tax raids. Therefore, he reasoned that the real colours of Siddaramaiah, who has been projecting himself as the champion of anti-corruption crusade, have been revealed.

Siddaramaiah should own moral responsibility and resign from his position, he demanded.

Yeddyurappa said that with the Central Bureau of Investigation undertaking investigation about corrupt officials, more scandals involving Siddaramaiah will come out into the open in the coming days.
