Indian cinema coming of age: Sushmita Sen

Mumbai, Dec 7 (IANS): Actress Sushmita Sen says Indian cinema is undergoing an exciting time as she feels directors are considering the scripts which are not typically commercial.

"I think Indian cinema over a decade has started coming of age. Directors are taking scripts that are typically not commercial and making films without singing and dancing," she said at the inauguration of Late John Fernandes Art Show on Tuesday.

"This is a very exciting time. I can't wait for the world to wake up to our kind of films," she added.

The former Miss Universe also says that she has recently watched "Dear Zindagi" and was spellbound by the performances of Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan in the film.

"It's a fabulous film," said Sushmita who was last seen in Srijit Mukherjee's Bengali film "Nirbaak".
