Udupi, Dec 12: Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik on Monday December 12, demanded resignation from state excise minister H Y Meti for his alleged role in the sex scandal.

Muthalik was speaking to media during his visit to the city to participate in a convention.

"This is the most corrupt and shameless government in Karnataka. There are too many scams involving the ministers. But the chief minister Siddaramaiah is defending them. He should make sure that Meti resigns immediately," he added.

"The government should have protected the RTI activist Rajashekhar from Ballari who exposed this scandal. But instead the people from the government are trying to stop Rajashekar from doing his work. He has received threats from goons. Home minister Parameshwara and CM should not have allowed this to happen," Muthalik said.

"There is no security for Hindu leaders in state. What happened in Gangavathi is a sad incident. MLA Iqbal Ansari himself is responsible for this. More than 10 people have been injured in communal violence. Why such things are happening in the state?" he questioned.

Muthalik also said that he had gone to Murdeshwar on Sunday December 11 to take part in a Hindu convention but he was banned from entering the town by the Uttar Kannada district administration.
