Mangaluru, Dec 12: "Religious programmes help in fostering the virtue of patience. One can achieve success by following the guidance of Ulemas and elders as per the message of Prophet Muhammad," said Karnataka minister for food and civil supplies, U T Khader.

He was speaking after participating Milad-un-Nabi or Eid Milad procession held from Kotepura to Ombathukere via Masthikatte Darga premises in Ullal on Monday, December 12.

"The guidance of elders is necessary so that youth do not lose their way. Youth need to move ahead with religious and pragmatic education," he said.

Darga committee president Abdul Rashid said that it is necessary to stress on creating a fraternal atmosphere as per the message preached by Prophet Muhammad to the world. "It is possible only through education. The Darga committee in this connection has decided to give importance to education and health. Soon, a health fund will be started by Sayyed Madani Charitable Trust for the people in Ullal. A team of workers will be assigned in every hospital as help desk," he said.

"These days, relationships are getting ruined because of selfishness, both in families and the society in general. Community youth are faced with situations where they have to spend their earnings only on court cases. Instead of wandering in the courts for years, think of the future, act according to the teachings of thee Prophet and live a harmonious life. Youth should build an environment of peace and respect for elders," he said.

Sulaiman Saqafi led the dua. Darga committee vice-president U K Monu, Bava Mohammed, secretary Mohammed Twaha, treasurer U K Elias, auditor U T Ilyas, joint secretaries Naushad Melangadi, Azad Ismail, council president Hussain Kunhimonu, members Mustafa, Mohammed Mukkacheri and others were present.

In Mangaluru, the procession was held from Juma Masjid to Idgah at Light House Hill. Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar inaugurated the procession with a prayer and urged the community to follow in the example set by Prophet Muhammad. Former mayor and Dakshina Kannada United Muslim Organizations president K Ashraf, Juma Masjid trustee Mohammed Haneef, Khateeb Sadakatulla Faizi and many others were present.
