Udupi, Dec 13:"No action has been taken against state excise minister H Y Meti and on education Minister Tanveer Sait," said Shobha Karandlaje. She was speaking to media persons in a press conference held at the Udupi BJP office on Monday, December 12.
The Udupi-Chikmagaluru MP spoke on various current issues in the state and the nation at large.
Expressing disappointment over the parliamentary session, she said, "Members had great expectations from the winter session of the parliament, but no specific issue came into discussion in the month-long session. The sessions will come to an end on Friday, December 16."
On prime minister Modi’s decision of demonetization of rupees 500 and 1,000 banknotes, Karandlage said, "Modi wants to curb fake currency racket and black money. It was a nightmare for black money holders. After the demonetization policy was introduced, all illegal activities have stopped in Kashmir and Kolkatta. At the parlimentary sessions Rahul Gandhi, vice president of Congress questioned Modi's administration on action against black money in the country. Now Rahul has the answer to it."
She urged the support for making cashless transaction in Petrol bunks in order to realizing the Modi’s dream to true.
Shobha criticised the Congress leaders for holding ‘Akrosh Diwas’ against demonetization, and said, "Chief minister Siddharamayya lashed out at Amith Shah, saying, ‘Shah has no morality, and isn't entitled to speak about the state government’. But after demonetisation, most of the IT raids took place in Karnataka. This shows that the cabinet, state administrative system, and bank employees are all indulged in illegal activities,"
"No legal action has been taken against people who are involved in the black money racket. Chikkarayappa and Jayachandra were supposed to be dismissed from their post, but in spite of this, chief minister defended them by transferring them to another department," she said.
Karandlaje alleged, minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, H K Patil, of misusing the central funds and keeping it in his account, sustaining from the interest earned from it.
Describing the failure of Yettinahole project, she said, "The government has sanctioned Rs 4000 crores only to purchase a pipeline, even though there is no source of water in the river. Moreover, the tender has been alloted to a company that is already blacklisted. This is done to earn a commission."
On the CM not being given a chance to talk with the prime minister, Karandlaje said "Chief minister Siddharamayya is ruling the 'Thuglaq government' and is not serious about the problems of the state. He made an issue on Modi not giving him a chance to talk the matters of the state, that not being a serious concern or a valid excuse, the chief minister has the opportunity to do good work for the state with the newly formed team,"
She also added that an adequate Coastal Regulation Zone report needs to be prepared, that is up to the mark. She suggested the state emulate Kerala model, considering all departmental officials concerned while making the report.
The Union government will soon release Rs 160 crores for Campco ltd (arecanut committe), for their development, she said.
"Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Released 200 crore to Udupi for roads development and Rs 50 crores for Chikmagaluru, under Central Roads Fund.A total Rs 48 crores is required to construct Mudigere and Manipal State roads, a proposal has been sent to the government," Karandlaje informed.
