Mangaluru, Dec 15: A truck caused moments of anxiety for people at Bendoorwell in city on Thursday, December 15. The truck, which was parked, moved backwards crushing a motorbike. But by the providential intervention, the loss was minimal.

As per eyewitnesses, the truck carrying tiles was parked in front of a building at Bendoorwell and the tiles were yet to be unloaded. The driver of the truck had kept a stone behind the tyre of the truck as a safety measure. Later when he removed that stone, the truck started moving backwards as it was parked on a slope area.

As the steering was locked, the truck did not move straight but tilting on the left. If at all it had moved straight, the loss to lives and properties would have been great as it would have entered the road. But the parking slot had only two vehicles and one of them, a bike, was crushed.

Police brought a crane to remove the truck.
