Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Dec 16: It has come to light that 31 persons spread over Beltangady, Bantwal and Mangaluru taluks of Dakshina Kannada district and some more from Udupi district have been defrauded by a travel agency which offered them the lure of securing jobs in Canada for a price. These people as a result, have lost both their current jobs and money.

Main operator of Globus Travel Enterprises Pvt Ltd functioning in Shanti Niketan building near Majestic Hotel at Dahisar Mumbai, Sagar Marker, John Ivan D'Souza living at Holy Cross Road in Padamale in Mangaluru taluk, and Alphonse Moras living near CVC Hall on Church Road Beltangady have been accused of running this fraudulent activity. They reportedly collected money at the rate of around Rs 2 lac from women aspirants and Rs 3 to 4 lac from men job seekers.

The size of this fraud is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

Sagar Marker, John Ivan D'Souza and Alphonse Moras

It is gathered that John Ivan D'Souza and Alphonse Moras are brokers, while Sagar Marker happens to be the kingpin of this operation. Marker operated Globus Travel Enterprises through which he offered employment opportunities abroad and helped people in procuring of visas to different countries by charging his clients for these services.

John and Alphonse contacted 31 different people from coastal Karnataka, and promised to procure jobs for them in Canada. For this service, they collected different amounts of money from willing clients, and the amount so collected was credited to the account of Sagar. As per information, Alphonse and Ivan got commission at the rate of Rs 30,000 to 45,000 per person, based on amounts they collected from people. As per the terms agreed, the people from whom this money was collected were to be furnished with visas and jobs in Canada before May 31 this year. Several had left their jobs because of the lure of working in foreign country, while many had borrowed money to pay hefty amounts to the brokers as the offer looked too lucrative for them to resist.

Sagar closed down his venture in March this year. As a result, all the 31 people are left high and dry, with neither visas nor jobs. The two brokers who collected money are now at the receiving end of the ire of the job aspirants who were taken for a ride. Many have filed individual complaints against Sagar, Ivan, and Alphonse. Local police, who have registered a case based on complaints made by Yashoda and several others, have registered it and investigation has been started.

Always be on your guard...People who talk sweetly are the main culprits. Background checks of every person whom u deal with should be checked and not regret later.

THIS IS INDEED A VERY SERIOUS MATTER. It is not the first time that an instance like this has come to light. There are instances of this kind of fraud even earlier.
It looks like a very planed action on the part of the three people who are involved in this kind of CHEATING. With the present police force that D.K. has it is difficult to escape their attention and action. It is a matter of a little time before the facts get revealed.

Sell of the cheaters assets and pay to those whom they cheated.
Only those who got cheated of their hard earned money and hope of future can understand pain of getting cheated.
Cheaters are heartless, they are ready to ruin others life to make their own!
