Mangaluru: Noble gesture - Team Elegant interacts with special athletes ahead of MPL

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Team Elegant, representing Moodbidri in the Mangalore Premier League, held an interactive programme with special athletes at Sanidhya Residental School, Shaktinagar here on Friday December 16.

The programme was organised to introduce the team consisting of specially-abled students who, in a noble initiative, will play a six-over match of 30 minutes in between the MPL tournament.

Addressing the gathering, Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo said, "This a good cause. I thank the team owner for giving an opportunity to these students to participate in the MPL. Let us all strive to get these students into the mainstream. I urge all of you to provide every possible support to Sanidhya. Sanidhya has been doing an exceptionally good job. I wish all the very best to the entire team."

Owner of the Team Elegant, Khader Shareen was honoured on the occasion for providing an opportunity to the specially-abled children to take part in MPL.

Former mayor Mahabala Maarla, director of Sanidhya, Vasanth Shetty and others were present.

Mangalore Premier League will start from Saturday December 17.
