Kasargod: Murder of Abdul Khader from Povval - all accused arrested

Kasargod, Dec 17: Relating to the murder of Abdul Khader from Povval at Bovikkana in the district recently, police personnel of Adur station have succeeded in arresting all the accused. Abdul Khader had been stabbed to death on December 1.

The arrested accused happen to be Kalam Muhammed (47) from Bovikkana, Muhammed Sali (25) from Balanadka Muliyaru, Farooq (30), Ashraf (28), and Hassan Zanaif (30), from Bavikkare. The other accused, Nazeer, had been arrested by the police a few days back.

The police have also confiscated a car and a motor bike used by the accused to flee after committing the crime. While the car belongs to fourth accused, Farooq from Bovikkana, the motor bike is owned by Ashraf. Police added that they are looking to take into possession an auto rickshaw relating to the said crime.

After killing Abdul Khader, Nazeer had used an auto rickshaw to cover some distance from there, before using a motor bike to reach Nellikatte, where he changed his clothes. From there, he used a car to escape to Vittal, police stated. Blood-stained clothes were found by the police abandoned among bushes in deserted stretch near Badiadka.

Friction over a football match had given rise to animosity among two groups of youths, which ended in the said murder.
