Moodbidri, Dec 18: Police on Saturday December 17 at Beluvai near here arrested six persons who were planning armed robbery in the vicinity. They also seized a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle, mobile phones and iron rods from them.
The police personnel received credible information that some persons were trying to attempt a robbery. Moodbidri police inspector Ramachandra Nayak went to Beluvai with his team and stopped a Mahindra Scorpio in which the robbers were travelling. Two of the robbers managed to run while police managed to apprehend other six persons.
When the police checked the vehicle, they found iron rods kept beneath the seat. They seized the vehicle, iron rods and mobile phones from the accused. The details of the arrested persons are yet to be revealed.
