Beltangady: KSRTC bus- car accident near Kokkada, 5 injured

Beltangady, Dec 18: In an accident that took place at Parpikal near Kokkada on Sunday, December 18, five of the passengers have been injured.

Out of the five injured, four have been taken to a hospital in Mangaluru with serious injuries while one with minor injuries has been admitted to a hospital in Ujire.

The accident was the result of head-on collision of KSRTC bus and a Ford car. Three of the injured are from the car while other two are from the bus.

The car has been badly damaged.

    The cause of the accident is yet to be established. However it is a common sight to notice buses driving at break-neck speed. Buses also do not observe the parking rules at designated bus halts but stop anywhere and everywhere to get passengers.
