Mangaluru, Dec 19: Panambur police on Sunday, December 19 arrested three criminals who were looting poor labourers in Baikampady industrial area.

Mohammed Mazambil (22) from Shanthigudde, Shuhud (19) from Old Airport Road, and Kamaluddin (19) from Bajpe are the persons arrested. They were produced in court on Sunday and were remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

There are 5 persons in the gang and 2 are yet to be traced, police said.

As per details of the case, the gang was targeting mainly the North Indian workers. Some days back they had looted Rs 32,000 from a person named Kamaluddin from Assam. They had even destroyed his phone so that he could not phone anybody immediately.

The bang usually operated on Saturdays in the area as it was a payment day for workers. Normally whoever lost money did not complain to police. But some people from the area took this as serious issue and with their help, three criminals were nabbed by police.
