6Degree selects four designers for LFW S/R '17


Mumbai, Dec 19 (IANS): 6Degree, a fashion talent and tech platform, organised the second edition of its two-day bi-annual fashion mentoring programme titled #GetLFWReady ahead of the forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) where a group of panellists selected four designers to participate at the summer-resort 2017 edition of the fashion gala.

The four names are Abha Choudhary from Nagpur, Sashi Vangapalli from Hyderabad, Fahd Khatri from Mumbai and Nandini Baruva from Guwahati.

#GetLFWReady witnessed emerging designers from across the country getting a word of advice from fashion industry stalwarts like leading designers Pranav Mishra, Payal Khandwala, Urvashi Joneja and Sahil Aneja, celebrity stylist and designer Esha Amin, celebrity stylist Mohit Rai.

The workshop was a mix of shedding light on designing, referencing and originality of designs. It also elucidated key facets of survival in the fashion industry, brand building, merchandising and retailing of products and further insights and guidance on showcasing at LFW..

"It was a delight to witness so many designers from smaller cities with extraordinary talent and flair, assemble on one platform to lure the modern fashionistas with their experimental and creative innovations," Amit Bhardwaj, Co-Founder and COO, 6Degree said in a statement.

The five-day fashion week will take place at Hotel St.Regis starting February 1.
